Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information YardEdge Pro collects when you visit yardedgepro.com or buy from us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it. We have written it to be read rather than skimmed past.
YardEdge Pro is operated by Mustapha Mahamudu, 2737 Kipling Ave, Etobicoke, Ontario M9V 4C3, Canada. You can reach us at info@yardedgepro.com or +1 647 766 5776. Our store runs on Shopify, which hosts the site and processes your order on our behalf.
By using the site you acknowledge that you have read this policy.
What we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect or process:
- Contact details — your name, email address, phone number, billing address and delivery address.
- Payment information — card details and transaction records. We never see or store your full card number; that is handled by Shopify and the payment processor.
- Order information — what you viewed, put in your basket, bought, returned or cancelled.
- Account information — if you create an account, your username, password and saved preferences.
- Messages you send us — anything you write in an email or a contact form, including photographs you attach to a warranty claim.
- Device and usage information — your IP address, browser, device type, and how you moved through the site. This arrives automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
We do not ask for, want, or knowingly collect anything sensitive — no health information, no government identifiers, no biometric data.
Where it comes from
Directly from you, when you order, create an account or write to us. Automatically from your device when you browse. And from the service providers we use to run the shop, who pass us back what they collect on our behalf.
Why we use it
To sell you something and get it to you. Taking payment, confirming the order, arranging delivery, sending you tracking, handling returns, exchanges and warranty claims, and answering you when you write.
To keep the shop working and honest. Maintaining your account, remembering your preferences, detecting fraudulent or abusive orders, and keeping the site secure.
To market to you, if you let us. Sending emails about products and offers if you opted in, and showing you advertising. You can stop marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message, and we will still send you the non-marketing ones — order confirmations, shipping notices and the like — because those are part of the purchase.
To obey the law. Responding to lawful requests, keeping records we are required to keep, and defending ourselves if we have to.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only where it is needed to run the business:
- Shopify, which hosts this store, runs the checkout and processes payment.
- Payment processors, who handle the card transaction.
- Our supplier and the carriers, who need your name, address and phone number to deliver the parcel.
- Service providers for email, reviews, analytics and order tracking, which act on our instructions.
- Advertising and marketing partners, where you have not opted out.
- Authorities or advisers, if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
- A buyer of the business, if YardEdge Pro is ever sold or merged.
Under some privacy laws, showing you targeted advertising based on your activity across different websites counts as "sharing" or a "sale" even though no money changes hands. You can opt out of that at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page.
Our relationship with Shopify
This store is hosted by Shopify, and information you submit here is transmitted to and stored by Shopify, including on servers in countries other than your own. Shopify also uses some of that information to provide and improve its own services across the merchants on its platform, and in those cases Shopify is responsible for it rather than us.

Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your basket working, remember you between visits, measure how the site is used and support advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the shop may stop working properly if you block the essential ones.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a request to opt out of sharing for targeted advertising on that browser and device, and we apply it to your account where we can match it. We do not respond to other "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no agreed standard for them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have some or all of these rights. They are not absolute, and in some cases we may have to decline — if we do, we will tell you why.
- Know and access — ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Correct — have inaccurate information put right.
- Delete — ask us to erase what we hold, subject to records we are legally required to keep.
- Portability — receive your information in a usable format, or have it sent to someone else.
- Opt out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising — through the Your Privacy Choices page.
- Withdraw marketing consent — unsubscribe from any marketing email.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these. We will not charge you more or give you a worse service because you asked.
To use any of them, email info@yardedgepro.com. We may need to verify who you are before we act, which usually means confirming details from an order you placed. You can appoint someone to make a request for you; we will ask them for proof you authorised it.
We answer within the time the law where you live requires, and in practice far sooner than that.
Children
We sell power tools. This shop is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under the age of majority where they live. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it. As far as we are aware, we do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
How long we keep it, and how we protect it
We keep order records for as long as we need them to support the purchase, honour the 12-month warranty, and meet tax and accounting obligations. Account information is kept while your account is open. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and the parts that matter most — payment details — are handled by Shopify and the payment processor rather than by us. No security is perfect, and information travelling over the internet is never completely safe, so please do not send us anything confidential by email that you would not want read by someone else.
Information crossing borders
We are based in Canada and most of our customers are in the United States, so your information will usually be stored and processed outside your own country. Where information is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognised legal transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, unless the destination has been formally recognised as providing adequate protection.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, email info@yardedgepro.com first and we will try to put it right ourselves. If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the privacy regulator where you live — in Canada that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business or the law changes. The version published on this page is the one that applies, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. If a change is significant we will give notice where the law requires it.
