Solar removes the reason. No trench across the lawn, no electrician's quote, no meter reading creeping up all winter. Mount it, point the panel at the sky, and the side gate stops being somewhere you don't want to walk after dark. These are lights, not security systems — if you want motion alerts or a camera, buy one of those as well.
